🩵First Impressions by Lorraine
Sometimes a place speaks louder than words. This poem captures the stillness of witnessing God’s fingerprints across land, people, and history—where wonder humbles the heart and gratitude rises naturally. A testimony of faith revealed through beauty and shared human connection.

I am in Panama—a beautiful city,
and I pause…
because God is amazing
in every city,
every country,
every corner of this universe.
I look around
and I can see His fingerprints everywhere.
Rainforests breathing praise,
green so deep it feels like worship.
Mountains standing tall like they know His name.
Waters moving with purpose,
telling stories older than my own.
And then—
one of the seven wonders of the world.
Right here.
Right before my eyes.
Not just something I read about,
not just something I saw in pictures—
but something I stood in.
Something I felt.
From the west to the south,
from the north to the east,
I turn my head slowly,
because every direction
has something to say.
And all I can say is—
Thank You, Lord.
Thank You for letting me see this.
Thank You for letting my life witness such wonder.
Thank You for moments that remind me
how big You are
and how small my worries really are.
The people—
loving,
humble,
kind.
Strangers who feel like family,
new friends mixing with old ones,
laughter crossing languages,
hearts meeting without permission.
And I stand here, breathing it all in,
realizing this isn’t just travel—
this is grace on display.
God didn’t rush this place.
He took His time.
And I’m grateful He let me be here
to see it,
to feel it,
to share it.
So again I say—
Thank You, Lord.
For beauty.
For wonder.
For life.
For Panama.
